Where to follow and connect with Chelle Bliss
Mend isn’t just your ordinary second-chance romance. I am a huge Chelle Bliss fan so I was absolutely thrilled to see her branch out and take a new direction and a chance in her writing. I think so many authors are afraid to try something ”not the norm” for them, but Chelle did just that. She stepped out of that box, and she hit it out of the park. Evie and Jack are definitely going to stand out in my mind for a very long time. These two started off as high school sweet hearts and seemed to have the perfect relationship until suddenly Evie needs to move. This wasn’t just a move to a different house in the same town, no this was a move half way around the world. Evie and Jack each make a promise to each other that they will wait for each other but other things come in the way and they don’t write each other or speak to one another in anyway for years.
When Evie and Jack do finally run in to each other when they both happen to be in town at the same time, it doesn’t go as Jack has planned. Evie flees in hopes to avoid him and ends up giving us a little bit of a chuckle in the process. Folks, never run into a parade float! Not a good look. After some stubbornness from the both of them, Jack says to hell with it and doesn’t give Evie the choice but to face him and this is when the book gets super interesting.
We learn that Evie has a very big secret and she is so scared to tell Jack. When Jack does find out the secret he is hurt but not because Evie didn’t tell him, but because Evie had to go through it alone. Jack vows to Evie that she will never be alone again.
I absolutely adored how these two not only got through the hurt, but how they communicated with one another. They got through the pain together and strived towards happiness.
Mend absolutely is a five star read in my opinion. This romance gave you all the feels and was pieced back together beautifully to give us the happily ever after the characters so very deserved. I can only hope that Chelle eventually writes a book about a few of the other characters that were in this book because there were some pretty amazing friends that these two had and I would love to see their own journeys in the future. Especially Evan and Cameron.
