Homer Carnegie. Admit it—you know my name. Your kid’s got my
e-trading card. Your husband sits up straighter when I stroll onto the TV
screen. He knows I’m going to crack the bat and save the day. Even your
grandma’s jonesing for my autograph. But women my age? They’re the worst. Or
would that be the best?
It’s not my fault they line up at the door. They catch my balls all right, two
at a time sometimes, or even three. Believe me, everybody wins.

At least they did—until the video. I heard TMZ paid a million for a bird’s eye
view of Homer on his A-game. The only folks who didn’t watch with eager eyes?
Red Sox management. They want me benched, or worse, shipped off to rehab.

It’s a long story, what happens next. How I end up on a boat, bound for the
world’s most remote island: Tristan da Cunha. Just a speck of dust in the
Atlantic.

Except my heart is there.

I don’t know that when I step onto the boat.

I don’t know a lot of things.

What I’ll covet…

What I’ll lose…

*Covet is the third standalone in the Sinful Secrets collection,
where each book is inspired by a sin and centered around a secret.

My Review- 5 Stars!
Ella James, oh my goodness this book is absolute perfection! Perfect amount of emotions throughout this book. It was sexy, it had angst, sorrow, joy, you name it. Ella James weaved magic with this book.

This book touched how truly difficult life can be for an addict. It touches how an addict can struggle, and how the individuals work through these arrays of emotions that plague them. Having addiction run very close to home, I was deeply moved by this story. The honesty and how realistic this book is, was deeply tragic, but beautiful all at the same time. It is a story that I know I will pick up again.

Homer Carnegie heads for a remote island in hopes that he can find this red-haired girl with eyes that stick with him so deeply. He knows he needs to find her no matter what. Finley is determined to stay away from him, but of course is drawn to him like a moth to a flame. Their time is very limited together and that scares Finley greatly. What will happen with these two individuals? I suggest purchasing to find out!

An absolute 5 Star read in my opinion!

I crouch down in front of her, the
same way I did when she was twelve years old. Even then she would clutch her
violin for comfort. She does it now without even realizing. “Samantha, I told
you that your father had enemies. If they think you know something—”
“I was just a child.”
Children can be dangerous. This one
had always terrified me. “A child who might remember something from when she
was hiding under her father’s desk. Not only from the day he died. From before
that. A phone call. A conversation.”
She stares at me, bewildered.
“What could I have heard that’s dangerous?”
Because her father was a diplomat
between politicians who aren’t in power anymore. That’s what she means. But what
she doesn’t know is that he was a traitor to his country. That his actions
disrupted governments—this country’s government—with repercussions that
continued past his death.
Yes, people would kill to keep
those kinds of secrets quiet.
“I’m going to ask you to do
something, Samantha. When you do the press for the tour, when the reporters ask
you about this, say you don’t remember anything.”
She blinks. “They’re only going
to ask about the music.”
“Kimberly Cox didn’t only ask about
the music.”
Her brown eyes turn dark. “Are
you sorry she came here?”
She isn’t asking about the damn
questions. She wants to know about the kiss. I should say yes. I should be
sorry that the woman kissed me, that I kissed her back for even a split second,
wanting her to be someone else. But that led to me walking in on Samantha. As
wrong as it was, it was the single most erotic experience of my life. It was
more than I dreamed I’d ever have of her.
To my shame I’ve jerked off to
the image of her in my head every single night. Every morning. My cock throbs
in my slacks right now, eager to push through the fabric. To shove aside her
skirt and press itself into her warm, welcoming body. She’d let me. She’d beg
me to keep going.
“No,” I say, my voice rough. “I’m
not sorry.”
Hurt flashes through her eyes,
but I can’t begin to explain the complexity of my feelings for her. The way I
shouldn’t want her. The way I want her anyway. My father always said I had the
devil inside me. Part of me never really believed him—at least until I saw her
masturbating. It took every last, torn shred of decency I have left inside me
to walk away.
Her chin rises, because she’s
always been so damn strong. She’s always deserved better than me. “I’ll agree
to your rule if you answer one question. Honestly.”
My insides tighten. I don’t want
this bargain, but her safety is worth it. It’s worth anything. “What’s the
question?”
I expect her to ask something
about her father, to finally back me into a corner and demand the truth. She
deserves that much. Why did you get
custody of me? What happened to my father?
I would have to tell her.
“Did you ever want me?” she asks.
“Really want me.”
I swallow hard. “That’s what you want
to know?”
The milestones are coming at me
fast, and they’re coming hard. Soon she’ll graduate from high school. She’ll
turn eighteen. Those milestones are taking her away from me, bit by bit. None
of them compare to what happens when her tour begins. Then she moves to
Tanglewood for two months of practice for the tour and the opening show. She’ll
travel the whole world.
“Yes, I want you,” I say, my
voice hard. “No, that doesn’t even begin to describe… I need you. I crave you.
I dream about that kiss in the club.”
“Then why won’t you—”

“Because you’re not eighteen, for
one thing. Almost doesn’t count.”

My Review- 5 STARS!

I really enjoyed Overture. Skye Warren is an absolute phenomenal writer. Overture was a forbidden romance story. It’s intense, dark, sexy, suspenseful, and the characters are fantastic.

Samantha is a young lady coming of age who knows what she wants, but doesn’t quite know how to go about getting it. Liam is a hot as can be guardian. Her father passed away and Liam took custody of Samantha. Liam is a pure alpha male who knows what he wants, but knows damn well he can’t have it and won’t go there.

This story had that taboo aspect, but I couldn’t put it down. This book pulls you in from the first pages and keeps you hooked until it ends, or doesn’t end.

I can’t wait to read book 2!

Misadventures of a Curvy Girl

by Sierra Simone

Release Date: 19th February 2019

Synopsis

For the first time in her life, Ireland Mills is happy with her body. No more fad diets, no more hiding from every camera in the room, no more low self-esteem. She’d rather be alone than with someone who’ll only love her if she’s skinny.

Caleb Carpenter and Ben Weber are everything Ireland and the Kansas Chamber of Commerce dreamed of when conceptualizing the “Real Kansas” promotional campaign. They’re handsome, young, educated, and totally dedicated to their small prairie town.

When Ireland’s Prius gets stuck on a Kansas dirt road and a massive storm rips through town, she’s left stranded with nowhere to turn but to Caleb and Ben. These two hunky country boys are impossible to ignore, but could they ever be interested in her as well?

Caleb and Ben are more than interested…and they’re willing to share. After their first night together, they know this has to be more than a one-time thing. They need to make her theirs forever. But can they convince Ireland they love her, curves and all?

Misadventures is a romantic series of spicy standalone novels, each written or co-written by some of the best names in romance. The stories are scandalous, refreshing, and, of course, incredibly sexy. They’re the perfect bedside read, a ‘quick blush’ for the reader who loves a page-turning romance.

Meet the Author

Sierra is a voracious reader of all things including the smuttiest smut, young adult, piles of non-fiction for research, and everything Bill Bryson (especially on audio).
She loves writing the dirtiest things that she can think of, King Arthur, sparkling water, Tarot, coffee, leggings, and learning new words daily.
Her previous jobs have included firing ceramics, teaching living history lessons in a one-room schoolhouse in full, 1908-approved school marm attire, and working as a librarian for several years—not in that order
She lives in the Kansas City area with her hot cop husband, two children, and two giant dogs. (And two cats, but they’re so naughty we don’t talk about them.)
The social media she cares about the most are Spotify and (her very very NSFW) Tumblr. Following her in those places is a true love language, indeed.

5 Star Review!!

Misadventures of a Curvy Girl was an absolutely fantastic read. Ireland has a mishap with her car on a Kansas dirt road and is very much stuck. She realizes this is going to make her late to photograph a local farm that her boss helped set up. She is in need of help and needs to get out of this storm. Her help is going to come in the form of Caleb Carpenter. He is a very handsome, muscular man and Ireland takes notice. Little does she realize Caleb is going to want her too. Caleb is instantly attracted to Ireland can’t wait to share the news with Ben.

These three quickly go into a whirlwind journey together and it is a steamy one to read about. I’m normally not a huge fan of M/F/M focused books, but this one really makes me want to give more of them a chance. It was done tastefully and the book had so much other content it wasn’t strictly just steamy scenes.

Sierra Simone slayed this book and I will be reading more from her for sure! Absolute 5 Stars in my opinion!

Rest, Liam told me.
He’s right
about a lot of things. Maybe he’s right about this. I climb onto the cool pink
sheets, hoping that a nap will suddenly make me content with this quiet little
life.
Even though
I know it won’t.
Besides,
I’m too wired to actually sleep. The white lace coverlet is both delicate and
comfy. It’s actually what I would have picked out for myself, except I didn’t
pick it out. I’ve been incapable of picking anything, of choosing anything, of
deciding anything as part of some deep-seated fear that I’ll be abandoned.
The
coverlet, like everything else in my life, simply appeared.
And the
person responsible for its appearance? Liam North.
I climb
under the blanket and stare at the ceiling. My body feels overly warm, but it
still feels good to be tucked into the blankets. The blankets he picked
out for me.
It’s really
so wrong to think of him in a sexual way. He’s my guardian, literally. Legally.
And he has never done anything to make me think he sees me in a sexual
way.
This is it.
This is the answer.
I don’t
need to go skinny dipping in the lake down the hill. Thinking about Liam North
in a sexual way is my fast car. My parachute out of a plane.
My eyes
squeeze shut.
That’s all
it takes to see Liam’s stern expression, those fathomless green eyes and the
glint of dark blond whiskers that are always there by late afternoon. And then
there’s the way he touched me. My forehead, sure, but it’s more than he’s done
before. That broad palm on my sensitive skin.
My thighs
press together. They want something between them, and I give them a pillow.
Even the way I masturbate is small and timid, never making a sound, barely
moving at all, but I can’t change it now. I can’t moan or throw back my head
even for the sake of rebellion.
But I can
push my hips against the pillow, rocking my whole body as I imagine Liam doing
more than touching my forehead. He would trail his hand down my cheek, my neck,
my shoulder.
Repressed.
I’m so repressed it’s hard to imagine more than that.
I make
myself do it, make myself trail my hand down between my breasts, where it’s
warm and velvety soft, where I imagine Liam would know exactly how to touch me.
You’re
so beautiful,
he
would say. Your breasts are perfect.
Because
Imaginary Liam wouldn’t care about big breasts. He would like them small and
soft with pale nipples. That would be the absolute perfect pair of breasts for
him.
And he
would probably do something obscene and rude. Like lick them.
My hips
press against the pillow, almost pushing it down to the mattress, rocking and rocking.
There’s not anything sexy or graceful about what I’m doing. It’s pure instinct.
Pure need.
The
beginning of a climax wraps itself around me. Claws sink into my skin. There’s
almost certain death, and I’m fighting, fighting, fighting for it with the
pillow clenched hard.
“Oh fuck.”
The words
come soft enough someone else might not hear them. They’re more exhalation of
breath, the consonants a faint break in the sound. I have excellent hearing.
Ridiculous, crazy good hearing that had me tuning instruments before I could
ride a bike.
My eyes
snap open, and there’s Liam, standing there, frozen. Those green eyes locked on
mine. His body clenched tight only three feet away from me. He doesn’t come
closer, but he doesn’t leave.
Orgasm
breaks me apart, and I cry out in surprise and denial and relief. “Liam.
It goes on
and on, the terrible pleasure of it. The wrenching embarrassment of coming
while looking into the eyes of the man who raised me for the past six years.

My Review- 5 Stars!!
Mara Dyocomo’s life is a complete mess. It has never been the same after a drunk driver killed her parents, and sister. Not only did she suffer great loss by loosing her family, but she was left permanently disabled. Life isn’t easy for her, but she is doing the best she can.

Mara’s first love walks back into the picture and life is about to get interesting for her again. Joey is now home in Colorado to attend his murdered brother’s funeral. Thing is he already knows that he’ll be talked into helping to find the killer because he’s a detective. Joey thinks his brothers murder is a part of something much bigger, he just doesn’t quite know what it is yet. It is interesting to see how he handles Mara and trying to solve the murder.

This book was really good. I was shocked this was a debut book. She is very talented and her writing flows really beautifully. Blinded was a page turner and a read I will not soon forget. It brought you through such an emotional rollercoaster. I’ll definitely be reading the next book!

From USA Today bestselling author W Winters comes a heart-wrenching, edge-of-your-seat gripping, romantic suspense.

I saw her from across the bar.
My bar. My city. Everything in that world belonged to me.
She stood out from the crowd like she was looking for someone to blame for her pain.

That night, I felt the depths of my mistakes. I felt my scars. With a single glance, I knew her touch would take it all away. I craved it more than anything.

I knew she would be a tempting, beautiful mistake.
One I would make again and again… even if it cost me everything.

My review- 5 Stars!

Willow Winters the things you do to me! A Single Glance is an absolutely phenomenal read. Jase and Bethany sucked me right in and I need answers! This read will gut you and then start to piece you back together again, only to gut you one more time at the end. I cannot wait for the next book. I have so many questions!

Willow Winters is a master of her craft. Her words are always chosen wisely, and she weaves together such a beautiful story even when this particular one carries some darkness. Jase and Bethany are enemies and she wants answers about what has happened to her sister. Jase promises her that he will get her the answers she seeks. Together these two are testing each other’s limits, learning about their feelings, and trying to get the answers they seek.

We are left with a cliff hanger that leaves me absolutely speechless. I want more, no I need more ASAP!

I’m Clint Holmes. I was an ambitious guy with a busy life and a growing business. Sure North Dakota wasn’t a tropical paradise, but I was happy enough—until tragedy struck. Now the only thing that matters is finding the person responsible and making her pay. But Bethany Banks is a Harvard-educated shark used to swallowing her enemies whole while playing dangerous corporate games. How can a blue-collar oil man like me possibly beat her?

The moment I lay eyes on my beautiful nemesis, the answer is obvious. I seduce her.

On Maui, where she’s fled, I get to know the man-eater who caused my family so much pain…only to find she’s not the brazen ballbuster I assumed. She’s skittish, secretive, vulnerable. For some reason, my instinct is to protect her. I can’t abandon my plan…but I can’t stop wanting her. Night after night, I pry her open with my touch until I’m drowning in our passion. Soon, I’m questioning everything, especially the fine line between love and hate. But when the past comes back to wreak vengeance and the truth explodes, can I prove that I’m more than tempted to love her forever?

Dorian Anson is my friend. She’s the only person who’s ever questioned my smiles. My jokes. The one liners that have our friends shaking their heads at me.
I’ve lived my life on those smiles. They never failed me, until her.
I wasn’t counting on her when I designed my front. I never imagined the possibility of someone like her coming into my life. The wild hair, the kind smile and those eyes that see everything.

She was the girl with the beautiful soul, pretty face and whole heart. But hearts aren’t made to stay whole.

I watched hers break. I watched her tears fall. I watched as her world tilted on its axis and shattered at her feet.

This girl.

She sees me, all parts of me—the truths I try to hide, the secrets I bury. What’s mine and what’s not.

She sees it all, and I can only hope the truth isn’t too much. That she won’t walk away.

That she won’t leave me…alone.

We both have a past. We have ghosts. We have fears.

I’m hoping that somehow in the end, we’ll have each other too.

I’ve never needed anyone before her, and I know I’ll never want anyone else after her.

There is no one like her.

My pretty girl.

Dorian.

My Review- 5 Stars!

Someone Like You is a very beautifully written romance story. It was such a great read. Dorian is a strong independent single mother and has suffered great loss in her life. She is an optimistic individual with the will to keep on pushing through. Her son is her first priority no matter what.

Jake Roth comes into her life and makes her start questioning everything. He is easy on the eyes, successful, and wants nothing more but to befriend Dorian. He has secrets like most of us, but his reputation can get the better of him and push Dorian away. When he loves, he loves hard.

While both are attracted to one another, they have this undeniable friendship that spans for many years. Each of them deny their attraction to one another and at times you’re like ugh, give in already! When these two finally happen it is like fireworks, sparks flying every which way, and it is sure to leave you breathless.

These two just completely get each other in ways other people never have and it is a joy to read about.

Alexandra Silva did such a beautiful job with this book and I will for sure be reading more by this fantastic author!
